01. General Requirements
Manuscripts must present original scholarly work and be submitted through the journal's online submission system. A manuscript submitted to Khazanah Sosial must not be under consideration by another journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the submission is complete and complies with the journal's editorial policies.
02. Language and Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English. Authors should check grammar, spelling, terminology, and readability before submission. The manuscript must follow the formatting and style specified in the official Khazanah Sosial article template.
03. Article Structure
A research article should generally include the title, author information, abstract, keywords, introduction, literature review or theoretical framework where appropriate, methods, results and discussion, conclusion, and references. Acknowledgments, author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, AI-use declarations, and ethical approval statements should be included where applicable or required by the journal.
04. Title
The title should be concise, specific, informative, and accurately reflect the central issue and research focus of the article. It should communicate the subject of the study without being unnecessarily broad or vague. Avoid unexplained abbreviations and expressions that do not contribute to the article's meaning.
05. Author Information
Provide each author's full name, institutional affiliation, country, and corresponding author information. All author details entered into OJS must be complete and consistent with the manuscript metadata. For double-anonymous peer review, identifying information should be removed from the review manuscript where required.
06. Abstract
The abstract should summarize the research background, purpose, methods, principal findings, scholarly contribution or novelty, and conclusion. It should be self-contained and consistent with the full manuscript. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations, unsupported claims, and references unless specifically required by the article type or template.
07. Keywords
Provide 3–5 relevant keywords or key phrases representing the article's principal concepts and research focus. Keywords should complement the title and help readers discover the article through academic databases.
08. Introduction
The Introduction should establish the research context, explain the significance of the problem, and engage with relevant literature and previous findings. It should identify the research gap, state the research question or objective, and clarify the contribution of the study. The argument should be supported by relevant scholarly sources.
09. Literature Review or Theoretical Framework (optional)
A separate literature review or theoretical framework may be included where appropriate. It should critically discuss relevant concepts, theories, scholarly debates, and previous studies in the social sciences. Authors should explain how the literature informs the research question, analytical framework, and interpretation of findings rather than merely listing previous publications.
10. Methods
The Methods section should explain how the study was conducted and provide sufficient detail to assess its rigor. Describe the research design, data sources, participant or case selection where relevant, data collection procedures, analytical techniques, and ethical considerations. The selected methods should be appropriate to the research questions and clearly connected to the reported findings.
11. Results and Discussion
Results should present findings that directly address the research questions or objectives. The Discussion should interpret the findings, connect them with relevant theories and previous studies, and explain their implications for social science scholarship. Depending on the topic, implications may concern society, governance, public policy, political processes, social development, media, or related areas. Claims must be supported by evidence.
12. Figures, Tables, and Supplementary Materials
Figures and tables should be numbered consistently, clearly titled or captioned, and referred to in the text. All data and visualizations should be legible and accurately represent the evidence. Authors must acknowledge sources of reproduced or adapted materials and obtain permission where necessary.
13. Conclusion
The Conclusion should answer the research questions or objectives and summarize the principal findings and contribution of the study. It may present practical or policy implications and directions for further research where appropriate. Do not introduce new evidence or arguments that have not been discussed in the article.
14. Acknowledgments
Where applicable, acknowledge individuals, institutions, research assistants, or other contributors whose assistance does not qualify for authorship. Acknowledgments should not compromise reviewer anonymity during the review process.
15. Author Contributions
For multi-authored articles, authors should identify their respective contributions to the research and manuscript preparation where required. All authors should have made an appropriate scholarly contribution, approved the final version, and accepted responsibility for the integrity of the work.
16. Funding
Authors should disclose financial support received for the research or preparation of the manuscript. If the study received no specific funding, an appropriate declaration may be provided where required.
17. Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation. Declarations should be accurate and complete.
18. Data Availability
Authors should provide a data availability statement where required, explaining whether and how the data or materials underlying the article can be accessed. Data sharing must respect ethical, legal, privacy, and confidentiality requirements, particularly for research involving human participants or sensitive information.
19. AI Use Declaration
Authors should disclose the use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted technologies in preparing the manuscript where required by journal policy. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, proper attribution, and scholarly content of their work. AI tools must not be listed as authors.
20. Research Ethics and Ethical Approval
Where applicable, authors should provide information about ethical approval or oversight. Research involving human participants, interviews, personal data, confidential records, or other protected materials must comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements. Authors should explain relevant consent, privacy, and data-protection procedures when appropriate.
21. References and Citation Style
References and in-text citations must follow the style specified in the official Khazanah Sosial article template. Authors should ensure that citations and reference-list entries correspond, and that bibliographic details are accurate and complete. Reference-management software such as Mendeley is recommended for consistency.
22. DOI, ISBN, URL, and Persistent Identifiers
Authors should include DOI links or other persistent identifiers for cited works whenever available and applicable. Bibliographic details and links must be checked for accuracy. Identifiers must never be fabricated.
23. Reference Quality
References should be relevant, reliable, accurately cited, and bibliographically complete. Authors are encouraged to engage with recent and relevant scholarly literature, including primary research and internationally recognized publications where appropriate. Citations should support the article's argument and must not be added merely to increase citation counts.
24. Preparation for Double-Anonymous Peer Review
Authors should remove identifying information from the manuscript file where required for double-anonymous peer review. Author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and other details that could reveal authorship should be handled according to the journal's review procedures. Authors should also check document properties and file metadata for identifying information.
25. Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submission, authors should confirm that the manuscript is original, falls within the journal's scope, follows the official template, and includes all required sections and declarations. Authors should also verify citations and references, figure and table quality, ethical compliance, author information, and the completeness of all OJS metadata.
