Screening for Plagiarism
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism and Similarity Checking
The Khazanah Sosial Editorial Board recognizes that plagiarism and inappropriate use of previously published material are unacceptable in scholarly publishing. The journal therefore applies a plagiarism and similarity checking policy to manuscripts submitted for publication.
Khazanah Sosial uses Turnitin originality checking software as a tool for detecting textual similarities in submitted manuscripts and in the final version of articles prepared for publication.
Maximum Similarity Index: 20%
A maximum similarity index of 20% is allowed for submitted manuscripts. If the similarity index exceeds 20%, the manuscript will be returned to the author for correction and resubmission.
Similarity results are used as an editorial screening tool. The similarity index itself does not automatically establish plagiarism; the editorial team may consider the context, citations, quotations, references, commonly used terminology, and other legitimate sources of textual similarity when evaluating a manuscript.
Levels of Plagiarism
When plagiarism or inappropriate textual appropriation is identified, the editorial team may classify the case according to its severity and take the corresponding action.
Author Responsibility
All authors are responsible for the content of their submitted manuscript. By submitting a manuscript to Khazanah Sosial, authors confirm that they have read and understood the journal's applicable publication, copyright, and ethical policies.
Where a plagiarism penalty is imposed, the penalty applies to all authors of the affected manuscript.
